Man + Woman = Donkey

This is the best I have read in a LONG time

Equation 1

Human = eat + sleep + work + enjoy
Donkey = eat + sleep

Therefore:
Human = Donkey + Work + enjoy

Therefore:

Human-enjoy = Donkey + Work

In other words,
A Human that doesn't know how to enjoy = Donkey that works.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Equation 2

Man = eat + sleep + earn money
Donkey = eat + sleep

Therefore:

Man = Donkey + earn money

Therefore:
Man-earn money = Donkey

In other words,
Man who doesn't earn money = Donkey

Six Tips To Stop Smoking

People are fond of socializing: parties, business meetings, conferences, and seminars. And it is during these functions that a person feels an intense pressure to fit it with the crowd. If people drink, chances are, you would also have to drink. If a majority of the people in the group smoke, there is a big likelihood that those few who don't smoke choose to learn to smoke so that they can mingle with those who do.

Smoking is a nasty habit to get started on. Thanks to its nicotine content, cigarettes can be highly addictive like other narcotics such as cocaine or heroin. The nicotine tends to hit the central nervous system by giving it a fleeting feeling of calm. Like other narcotics, the body easily gets used to the nicotine, and pretty soon it will be craving for more. It is then that people understand that the smoking habit has got them hook, line, and sinker.

A lot of smokers can attest to how difficult it is to get rid of their nasty smoking habits. They have gotten so used to it that they feel like their day lacks something important if they fail to puff even a stick of cigarette. How does one begin to quit smoking and keep their promises to remain smoke-free? Here are some quick and easy ways to stop smoking:

1. Prepare yourself for the battle you’re about to face. Admit it. Your biggest opponent here is your self - your will and determination to say no to cigarettes. Psyche yourself up, think only of positive thoughts. Negativity will only make you lose your drive to quit easier.

2. Make a list. Jot down every reason you have in mind to want to quit smoking. List down all the positive effects quitting will bring you. Write down all the activities you can enjoy once you’ve let go of smoking. This gives you something to look forward to when you’ve finally achieved your goal.

3. Condition your body. Get started in a moderately-paced exercise routine that will help get your body in the best condition to fight your cigarette cravings.

4. Mark the date. Set the date when you will finally quit smoking. Make it sacred, let nothing or no one break it for you. It may help that you make the quitting date fall on a significant date to make the event something to look forward to.

5. Know what you’re getting yourself into. Keep your expectations simple and attainable. Over-expecting may magnify little failures. Understand what you’ll be battling while trying to quit. You’ll experience withdrawal symptoms, but these symptoms will pass in a matter of minutes, it is just a matter of holding on to your will a little longer than usual. It is also best to keep in mind that most quitters never got what they wanted in their first tries. So don’t be too hard on yourself if you’ve failed a few times before.

6. Gradually cut back on the amount of cigarettes you light. It doesn’t help to abruptly deprive yourself of the cigarette and nicotine intake that you’re body has gotten used to. Something as little as one stick every one or two weeks will help your body ease out of your usual nicotine fills.

Computer History of the World - A different perspective

In the beginning, God created the Bit and the Byte.

And from those he created the Word.

And there were two Bytes in the Word; and nothing else existed.

And God separated the One from the Zero;

and he saw it was good.

And God said - Let the Data be; And so it happened.

And God said - Let the Data go to their proper places.

And he created floppy disks and hard disks and compact disks.

And God said - Let the computers be, so there would be a place

to put floppy disks and hard disks and compact disks.

Thus God created computers and called them hardware.

And there was no Software yet. But God created programs;

small and big... And told them - Go and multiply yourselves

and fill all the Memory.

And God said - I will create the Programmer;

And the Programmer will make new programs and govern over

the computers and programs and Data.

And God created the Programmer; and put him at Data Center;

And God showed the Programmer the Catalog Tree and said

You can use all the volumes and subvolumes

but do not use Windows.

And God said - It is not good for the programmer to be alone.

He took a bone from the Programmer's body and created

a creature that would look up at the Programmer;

and admire the Programmer; and love the things

the Programmer does; And God called the creature:

the User.

And the Programmer and the User were left under

the DOS and it was Good.

But Bill was smarter than all the other creatures of God.

And Bill said to the User - Did God really tell you

not to run any programs?

And the User answered - God told us that we can use every

program and every piece of Data but told us not to run

Windows or we will die.

And Bill said to the User - How can you talk about something

you did not even try. The moment you run Windows

you will become GENIOUS. You will be able to create anything

you like by a simple click of your mouse.

And the User saw that the fruits of the Windows were nicer

and easier to use. And the User saw that any knowledge

was useless--since Windows could replace it.

So the User installed the Windows on his computer;

and said to the Programmer that it was good.

And the Programmer immediately started to look for new drivers.

And God asked him--What are you looking for?

And the Programmer answered

--I am looking for new drivers because I can not find them

in the DOS.

And God said - Who told you need drivers?

Did you run Windows?

And the Programmer said - It was Bill who told us to!

And God said to Bill - Because of what you did, you will be hated

by all the creatures. And the User will always be unhappy with you.

And you will always sell Windows.

And God said to the User - Because of what you did,

the Windows will disappoint you and eat up all your Resources;

and you will have to use lousy programs;

and you will always rely on the Programmers help.

And God said to the Programmer - Because you listened to

the User, you will never be happy. All your programs will have

errors and you will have to fix them and fix them to the end of time.

And God threw them out of the Data Center

and locked the door and secured it with a password

Honor This Day

Feel what a privilege it is to be alive today. Consider all
The possibilities available to you, right now.

See the wonder and the beauty all around you. Let yourself
Truly love who you are and where you are in this moment.

Sense the eagerness within you to get started, to make
Things happen, and to create value. That eagerness comes
From your genuine excitement about expressing yourself
Through your accomplishments.

Look at all the new ways that this day gives you to express
Who you are. Even the troubles, even the problems, and even
The obstacles give meaning to life because they give you
Something to build upon.

Life's many circumstances and situations give you a way to
Pull yourself up, and rise to a new level of being. Whatever
Comes your direction gives you a way to create value that
Will last beyond this day, value that will be with you
Always.

Honor this day, honor the possibilities in this day, honor
The love and the beauty in this day. Look around at all you
Have, and in this moment make it, in your own way, into
Something truly great.

~Ralph Marston~

GOD SAID............

If you never felt pain, then how would you know that I'm a Healer?

If you never went through difficulties,
how would you know that I'm a
Deliverer?

If you never had a trial,
how could you call yourself an overcomer?

If you never felt sadness,
how would you know that I'm a Comforter?

If you never made a mistake, how would you know that I'm forgiving?

 If you knew it all,
how would you know that I will answer your questions?

If you never were in trouble, how would you know that I will come to your
Rescue?

If you never were broken, then how would you know that I can make you whole?

If you never had a problem, how would you know that I can solve them?

If you never had any suffering,
then how would you know what Jesus went
Through?

If you never went through the fire, then how would you become pure?

If I gave you all things,
how would you appreciate them?

If I never corrected you, how would you know that I love you?

If you had all power,
then how would you learn to depend on me?

If your life was perfect,
then what would you need Me for?

Heal The Hurt

When you blame others for your troubles, you give them
Control of your life. Free yourself from your own anger,
From your own resentment, and you'll find vastly more room
For serenity and abundance.

It's bad enough if someone has wronged you in the past. Is
It of any value for you to continue suffering from it?

Your best strategy is not to prolong the pain, or expand
Upon it. Your best strategy is to get past it as quickly as
Possible.

Whether or not anyone deserves your forgiveness is not the
Point. The point is, you deserve to forgive, to take back
Control of your life, so that you can live abundantly.

Your forgiveness may not even make a difference to those you
Forgive, if they're even aware of it. For you, it makes all
The difference in the world.

When it is you who is feeling the hurt, it is also you who
Can heal the hurt. Heal the hurt, and move past the pain,
With forgiveness.

 Ralph Marston

Mother

When you're a child she walks before you,
To set an example.
When you're a teenager she walks behind you
To be there should you need her.
When you're an adult she walks beside you
So that as two friends you can enjoy life together..

For those of us, whose Mom is no longer with us, a lovely poem
Your Mother Is Always With You...
Your mother is always with you...
She's the whisper of the leaves
as you walk down the street.
She's the cool hand on your brow
when you're not well.
Your mother lives inside your laughter.
She's crystallized in every tear drop.
She's the place you came from,
your first home...
She's the map you follow
with every step that you take.
She's your first love
and your first heart break...
and nothing on earth can separate you.
Not time, Not space...
Not even death...
will ever separate you
from your mother...
You carry her inside of you...

Socialism

An economics professor at a local college made a statement that
he had never failed a single student before but had once failed
an entire class.

That class had insisted that socialism worked and that no one
would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer.

The professor then said, "OK, we will have an experiment
in this class on socialism. All grades would be averaged and
everyone would receive the same grade so no one would fail
and no one would receive an A.

After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B.

The students who studied hard were upset and the students
who studied little were happy.

As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little
had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided
they wanted a free ride too so they studied little.

The second test average was a D!

No one was happy.

When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F.
The scores never increased as bickering, blame and
name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one
would study for the benefit of anyone else.
All failed, to their great surprise, and the professor told them
that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the
reward is great, the effort to succeed is great but when
government takes the reward away, no one will try or
want to succeed.
Could not be any simpler than that.

What a profound short little paragraph that says it all
"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the
wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without
working for, another person must work for without receiving.
The government cannot give to anybody anything that the
government does not first take from somebody else.
When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to
work because the other half is going to take care of them,
and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good
to work because somebody else is going to get what they
work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation.
You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."

Jump Up

A challenge is a chance to jump up to a higher level of
Performance. Take that opportunity and run with it.

If you haven't been as effective as you know you can be, a
Difficult challenge will change that. Because the challenge
Will leave you with no other choice.

Yes, it's inconvenient and uncomfortable and just plain hard
Work. But think of what will happen when you choose to run
Out and embrace it.

You'll make yourself stronger, more capable, with greater
Discipline, focus and effectiveness. Not only will you
Create something of great value, you'll then be perfectly
Positioned to create even greater value on top of that.

You'll run faster when you're chasing after something, or
When there's something chasing you. You'll discover that you
Can do it, and you'll discover how great it feels to give
Your very best.

When a challenge jolts you awake, jump out of your slumber
And hit the ground running. Be pleasantly amazed at where
You can take yourself when there's a challenge pushing you
Forward.

MAKE IT TRUE

What you tell yourself most frequently, you will believe.
What you truly believe, you will incorporate into every
Aspect of your life.
It doesn't matter if it is objectively true or not. What you
Continue to tell yourself, day after day, becomes true for
You and has a profound effect on your life.
Great power lives in the fact that you can choose what to
Tell yourself, again and again, in the thousands of moments
That make up each day. With focus and intention, you can
Upgrade your beliefs about yourself.
You can upgrade your beliefs about what is possible for you.
And by so doing, you will in fact expand your access to the
Very best of your possibilities.
You'll go precisely as far as you believe you will go. So
there's every reason to believe the very best.
With what you tell yourself, choose to sell yourself, again
And again, on your best possibilities. For when you
Consistently believe something to be true in your life, you
Will indeed make it true.

Mood and the Heart

Mind and Mood can adversely affect the cardiovascular system..

Heart disease can be depressing literally. About 50 percent of hospitalised heart patients have some depressive symptoms, and upto 20 per cent develop major depression, and depression affects heart health.

Patients who are depressed at the time of hospitalisation for heart conditions are two to five times more likely than average to die or to suffer further cardiovascular events such as heart attack, stroke, or severe chest pain in the following year.

Mind and mood can affect the cardiovascular system directly by creating a state of emergency readiness, in which stress harmone levels rise, blood vessels constrict and heartbeat speeds up. If a person is seriously depressed or anxious, the emergency response becomes constant, damaging the blood vessels and making the heart less sensitive to signals telling it to slow down or speed up as the body’s demands change, reports the Harvard Mental Health Letter.

Research suggests that the type of antidepressants called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) may benefit depressed heart patients and possibly reduce their risk for future heart problems.. Cardiac rehabilitation programs that sustain patients’ morale and urge them to take better care of themselves may also help reduce the damage depression done to the heart.

Its hard to determine the precise cause and effect in the relationship between depression and heart disease. Symptoms may be similar, and the damage depression does to the cardiovascular system may trigger further depression. Still, the connection is real.. Cardiologists should ask their patients about stress and depression, and patients should not hesitate to bring up these subjects.

So… take care…keep your Mind & Mood cool always

The Colors of Friendship

Once upon a time the colors of the world started to quarrel. All claimed that they were the best; the most important, the most useful, the favorite

GREEN said:

“Clearly I am the most important. I am the sign of life and of hope. I was
chosen for grass, trees and leaves. Without me, all animals would die. Look over the countryside and you will see that I am in the majority.”

BLUE interrupted:
“You only think about the earth, but consider the sky and the sea. It is the
water that is the basis of life and drawn up by the clouds from the deep sea. The sky gives space and peace and serenity. Without my peace, you would all be nothing.”

YELLOW chuckled:
“You are all so serious. I bring laughter, gaiety, and warmth into the world. The sun is yellow, the moon is yellow, the stars are yellow. Every time you look at a sunflower, the whole world starts to smile. Without me there would be no fun.”

ORANGE started next to blow her trumpet:
“I am the color of health and strength. I may be scarce, but I am precious for I serve the needs of human life. I carry the most important vitamins. Think of carrots, pumpkins, oranges, mangoes, and papayas. I don’t hang around all the time, but when I fill the sky at sunrise or sunset, my beauty is so striking that no one gives another thought to any of you.”

RED could stand it no longer, he shouted out:
“I am the ruler of all of you. I am blood - life’s blood! I bring fire into
the blood. I am willing to fight for a cause. I am the color of danger and of
bravery. Without me, the earth would be as empty as the moon. I am the color of passion and of love, the red rose, the poinsettia and the poppy.”

PURPLE rose up to his full height:
He was very tall and spoke with great pomp: “I am the color of royalty and power. Kings, cheifs, and bishops have always chosen me, for I am the sign of authority and wisdom. People do not question me! They listen and obey.”

Finally INDIGO spoke, much more quietly than all the others, but with just as much determination: “Think of me. I am the color of silence. You hardly notice me, but without me you all become superficial. I represent thought and reflection, twilight and deep water. You need me for balance and contrast, for prayer and inner peace.”

So the colors went on boasting,
each convinced of his or her own superiority.
Their quarreling became louder and louder.
Suddenly there was a startling flash of bright lightening.
Thunder rolled and boomed. Rain started to pour down relentlessly.
The colors crouched down in fear, drawing close to one another for comfort.
In the midst of the clamor, rain began to speak: “You foolish colors,
fighting amongst yourselves, each trying to dominate the rest.
Don’t you know that you were each made for a special purpose,
unique and different? Join hands with one another and come to me.”
Doing as they were told, the colors united and joined hands.
The rain continued:
“From now on, when it rains, each of you will stretch across the sky in a great bow of color as a reminder that you can all live in peace.
The Rainbow is a sign of hope for tomorrow.”
And so, whenever a good rain washes the world, and a Rainbow appears in the sky, let us remember to appreciate one another.

Slow Down

It's been 18 years since I joined Volvo, a Swedish company. Working for them has proven to be an interesting experience. Any project here takes 2 years to be finalized, even if the idea is simple and brilliant. It's a rule.

Globalized processes have caused in us (all over the world) a general sense of searching for immediate results.. Therefore, we have come t!o posses a need to see immediate results. This contrasts greatly with the slow movements of the Swedish. They, on the other hand, debate, debate, debate, hold x quantity of meetings and work with a slowdown scheme. At the end, this always yields better results.

1. Sweden has 2 million inhabitants. .
2. Stockholm has 500,000 people.
3. Volvo, Escania, Ericsson, Electrolux, are some of its renowned companies. Volvo even supplies NASA.

The first time I was in Sweden , one of my colleagues picked me up at the hotel every morning. It was September, bit cold and snowy. We would arrive early at the company and he would park far away from the entrance (2000 employees drive their car to work).

The first day, I didn't say anything, neither the second or third days. One morning I asked him, "Do you have a fixed parking space?

I've noticed we park far from the entrance even when there are no other cars in the lot."

To which he replied, "Since we're here early we'll have time to walk, don't you think that whoever gets in late will need a place closer to the door?" Imagine my face.

Nowadays, there's a movement in Europe named Slow Food. This movement establishes that people should eat and drink slowly, with enough time to taste their food, spend time with the family, friends, without rushing. Slow Food is against its counterpart, Fast Food and what it stands for as a lifestyle. Slow Food is the basis for a bigger movement called Slow Europe, as mentioned by Business Week.

Basically, the movement questions the sense of "hurry" and "craziness" generated by globalization, fuelled by the desire of "having in quantity" (life status) versus "having with quality", "life quality" or the "quality of being".

French people, even though they work 35 hours per week, are more productive than Americans or British. Germans have established 28.8 hour workweeks and have seen their productivity driven up by 20%..

This slow attitude has come to the notice of USA , the pupils of the fast and "do it now" brigade.

This no-rush attitude doesn't represent doing less or having a lower productivity.
It means working and doing things with greater quality, productivity, perfection, with attention to detail and less stress.
It means re-establishing family values, friends, free and leisure time.. Taking the "now", present and concrete, versus the "global", undefined and anonymous.
It means taking humans' essential values, the simplicity of living.
It stands for a less coercive work environment, more happy, lighter and more productive work place where humans enjoy doing what they know best how to do.

It's time to stop and think on how companies need to develop serious quality with no-rush that will increase productivity and the quality of products and services, without losing the essence.

In the movie, 'Scent of a Woman', there's a scene where Al Pacino asks a girl to dance and she replies, "I can't, my boyfriend will be here any minute now". To which Al Pacino responds, "A life is lived in an instant" . Then they dance the tango!

Many of us live our lives running behind time, but we only reach it when we die of a heart attack or in a car accident rushing to be on time. Others are so anxious to live for the future that they forget to live the present, which is the only time that truly exists.

We all have equal time throughout the world. No one has more or less. The difference lies in how each one of us does with our time. We need to live each moment. As John Lennon said, "Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans".

ADVICE ON LIFE

In three words I can sum up everything that I learned about life:
 "It goes on."
When the going gets tough, make yourself realize that no matter what
your problem is, someone is and always will be fighting a harder battle.

Tears don't help problems, and whining won't make things better.
Have faith but understand that faith makes things possible, not easier.
Have hope but understand without doing anything nothing gets done.

Be there when people need you, because in order to have friends
you must first be one. Make the impossible, possible.
Never give up! You only fail when you fail to try.

Keep an open mind; you never know what you may learn.
Never compromise your standards for anyone, do it for you.
Remember that laughter makes the world go round.
Beware of the person who has nothing to lose, see through
the problem to find the solution.
Don't make promises you can't keep.

Keep in mind, those who gossip to you will gossip about you.
Say only what you mean, and don't believe everything you hear
because some day the story will be about you.

Everyday is a gift, even if it sucks. Count your blessings,
 not your troubles.
Never waste an opportunity to tell someone that you love them,
because you never know what tomorrow has in store for you.

Give people a second chance, because no one is perfect.
Love all that you can, give all that you have, smile away
your days, and dream away your nights.
Life, what a wonderful thing!

Life Has Purpose

Life keeps coming toward you at a rapidly increasing pace.
And you can make use of it all.
Each day arrives bearing problems, promises, pleasures, beauty, frustration,
Inspiration and overwhelming details.
Find something positive and fulfilling to do
With all that valuable raw material.
The criticism you receive, the insights that suddenly hit you, the tedious chores,
And the wondrous moments all have their place.
The boredom, the excitement, the fear, the confidence, the hot and the cold,
The weariness and the joy add real, priceless substance to your life.
You can take it all and make it all into something great.
Whatever energy comes your way is yours to channel and to apply as you see fit.
There is a bright and wonderful purpose to your life.
And everything in your life can serve, in one way or another, to advance that purpose.
In all its different aspects, life just keeps on coming. And you can keep on making it great.

I Wanted To Live ! Mommy

Dear Mommy,

I am in Heaven now... I so wanted to be your little girl. I don't quite understand what has happened. I was so excited when I began realizing my existance. I was in a dark, yet comfortable place. I saw I had fingers and toes. I was pretty far along in my developing, yet not near ready to leave my surroundings. I spent most of my time thinking or sleeping. Even from my earliest days, I felt a special bonding between you and me.

Sometimes I heard you crying and I cried with you. Sometimes you would yell or scream, then cry. I heard Daddy yelling back. I was sad, and hoped you would be better soon. I wondered why you cried so much. One day you cried almost all of the day. I hurt for you. I couldn't imagine why you were so unhappy.

That same day, the most horrible thing happened. A very mean monster came into that warm, comfortable place I was in. I was so scared, I began screaming, but you never once tried to help me. Maybe you never heard me. The monster got closer and closer as I was screaming and screaming, "Mommy, Mommy, help me please; Mommy, help me." Complete terror is all I felt. I screamed and screamed until I thought I couldn't anymore. Then the monster started ripping my arms off. It hurt so bad; the pain I can never explain. It didn't stop.

Oh, how I begged it to stop. I screamed in horror as it ripped my leg off.

Though I was in such complete pain, I was dying. I knew I would never see your face or hear you say how much you love me. I wanted to make all your tears go away. I had so many plans to make you happy. Now I couldn't; all my dreams were shattered. Though I was in utter pain and horror, I felt the pain of my heart breaking, above all. I wanted more than anything to be your daughter. No use now, for I was dying a painful death. I could only imagine the terrible things that they had done to you. I wanted to tell you that I love you before I was gone, but I didn't know the words you could understand.

And soon, I no longer had the breath to say them; I was dead. I felt myself rising. I was being carried by a huge angel into a big beautiful place. I was still crying, but the physical pain was gone. The angel took me away to a wonderful place... Then I was happy. I asked the angel what was the thing was that killed me. He answered, "Abortion". I am sorry, for I know how it feels." I don't know what abortion is; I guess that's the name of the monster. I'm writing to say that I love you and to tell you how much I wanted to be your little girl. I tried very hard to live. I wanted to live. I had the will, but I couldn't; the monster was too powerful. It sucked my arms and legs off and finally got all of me. It was impossible to live. I just wanted you to know I tried to stay with you. I didn't want to die. Also, Mommy, please watch out for that abortion monster. Mommy, I love you and I would hate for you to go through the kind of pain I did. Please be careful.

Love,
Your Baby Girl

PRO CHOICE? DO YOU THINK THESE BABIES CHOSE TO DIE???

The Benefits of YOGA...

The benefit of yoga practice goes far beyond the actual time you spend in the poses. One of the most common reasons why people begin practicing yoga is to improve their health and well-being.

Yoga means union. It is a union of the mind, body and breath, so all aspects of your life are impacted by your practice.

A major benefit of yoga is physical.

Yoga improves your flexibility. - The stretching that you engage in during every practice helps lengthen and stretch muscles, which helps reduce the risk of injuries.
It helps to improve your balance. - The majority of yoga practices include some type of balancing in the poses. A significant number of people, especially as they began to get older, start to have problems with balance, which can lead to major injuries due to falls. By having a greater sense of balance, you are able to move more easily and safely.

Yoga can help reduce pain. - Tense muscles often contribute to pain. Relaxing muscles helps to minimize muscle tension and the pain that is associated with it. Also, breathing deeply into muscles helps lessen pain by altering your perception of it.

It tones your muscles. - Yoga works all the muscles in your body. It helps strengthen and tone them and also builds endurance and stamina.

It helps to increase your level of energy. - Carrying tension in your body takes an enormous toll on your energy reserves. By learning how to relax through your yoga practice, you benefit by enjoying higher levels of energy so you can more thoroughly enjoy your daily activities.

Yoga helps promote a sense of relaxation.- Most people breathe high in their chests. This not only does not allow them to get sufficient oxygen, it also triggers the stress response, which contributes to feelings of anxiety. Breathing deeply as practiced in yoga, helps relax your muscles and also brings much needed oxygen to your cells. The deep sense of relaxation also leads to better quality sleep.

Each yoga practice ends with some type of relaxation. Since your body and mind are one, by relaxing your body you also relax your mind. Many yoga experts believe that a relaxation pose is the most beneficial pose in any yoga practice.

Another benefit of yoga is mental.

Yoga clears your mind and helps you focus your attention. - During your practice, you are focusing your attention on your breath and turning inward. This concentration allows you to withdraw from the distractions in your environment. A significant benefit of yoga practice is that you can take this ability to focus your attention into every aspect of your life.

You can be fully present with whatever you are doing instead of worrying about tomorrow or regretting yesterday. Not only will your actions be more productive, you can also enjoy them in a greater way.

Yoga helps reduces stress.- Deep breathing helps reduce the hormones that are released when you are feeling overwhelmed, overloaded, and frazzled. The internal focus that accompanies the poses helps create a relaxation response in your body.

Yoga can help release stuck emotions.- Often stuck emotions find their way into our bodies. Remember, your mind and body are one, and if you are suppressing any painful emotions, you will often experience that as pain in some part of your body. A benefit of yoga is that by breathing deeply into places in your body that hold tension, you can help release the emotions that may be buried there. You can then examine these emotions and let go of those that do not serve you.

Also, as you take your body past the limits of where it has been, you start to feel that you can move past other limitations in your life as well.

You gain a sense of peace and tranquility. - Most yoga practices include some time for meditation. Regular meditation helps your mind reach a state of inner calm. It helps you gain control over your thinking instead of being at the mercy of wayward thoughts.

As you can see, the benefit of yoga has far reaching effects in every area of your life. Maintain a regular yoga practice, and you will see for yourself, how yoga can benefit you too.

Understanding Why We Get Angry

One of the helpful steps in equipping children to control their anger is to recognize four causes of anger. After kids have settled down and you debrief with them about their anger, talk about whats causing it. You and your child may see patterns and then be able to head off the problem earlier next time.

Blocked Goals. This is the kind of thing that happens to you, as a parent, when you want to do a project in the playroom and find that Billy has left his Lego's all over the floor and you keep stepping on them. Or, Billy may want to play with his train set only to find that his sister is using it first. These are blocked goals

Violated Rights. Thats when you, as a parent, are in the bathroom and your daughter keeps knocking on the door. You believe you have the right to go to the bathroom in peace. Your daughter may get angry because her brother came into her room and took her favorite CD. Those are violated rights.

Unmet Expectations. You had expected that when you got home you would be able to rest but instead you find a big mess. Or Jackie thought she would be going to McDonald's but instead you chose to go to Pizza Hut. Those are unmet expectations.

Experiencing Unfairness. When someone takes a toy from a younger child, you may feel angry as a parent because you see unfairness. Or, Tom may feel angry with his teacher because she picked someone else for a privilege he thought he deserved. Those unfair situations can provoke anger.

Whatever the situation, after a child has settled down, talk about the cause. Discuss the value of sacrificing rights, readjusting goals or expectations, and handling unfairness in a godly way. By examining the causes of anger, you can help children gain greater perspective and develop longer lasting strategies for managing their emotions.

When I Negotiated with God

God came and asked me for a wish, I told GOD “Let all my friends be healthy and happy forever!"

GOD said: But for 4 days only!

I said: Yes, let them be a Spring Day, Summer Day, Autumn Day, and Winter Day.

GOD said: 3 days...

I said: Yes, Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow.

GOD said: No, 2 days!

I said: Yes, a Bright Day (Daytime) and Dark Day (Night-time) .

GOD said: No, just 1 day!

I said: Yes!

GOD asked: Which day?

I said: Every Day in the living years of all my friends!

GOD laughed, and said: You know how to negotiate. But since you are praying and asking happiness for your friends, I can't refuse. I love everyone who thinks of others first, so don't you worry.
