The economy is so bad that...

I got a pre-declined credit card in the mail.

I ordered a burger at McDonald's and the kid behind the counter asked, "Can you afford fries with that?"

CEO's are now playing miniature golf.

Exxon-Mobil laid off 25 Congressmen.

If the bank returns your check marked "Insufficient Funds," you call them and ask if they meant you or them.

Hot Wheels and Matchbox stocks are trading higher than GM.

McDonald's is selling the 1/4 ouncer.

Parents in Beverly Hills fired their nannies and learned their children's names.

A truckload of Americans was caught sneaking into Mexico.

Dick Cheney took his stockbroker hunting.

Motel Six can’t afford to leave the light on anymore.

The Mafia is laying off judges.

Congress says they are looking into this Bernard Madoff scandal. Oh, great!! The guy who made $50 billion disappear is being investigated by the people who made $1.5 trillion disappear!

And, finally....

I was so depressed last night thinking about the economy, wars, jobs, my savings, Social Security, retirement funds, etc., I called the Suicide Hotline. I got a call center in Pakistan, and when I told them I was suicidal, they got all excited, and asked if I could drive a truck.

Little girl on a plane

A Georgia Congressman was seated next to a little girl on the  airplane leaving from Atlanta when he turned to her and said, 'Let's talk. I've heard that flights go quicker if you strike up a conversation with your fellow passenger.'

The little girl, who had just opened her book, closed  it slowly and said to the total stranger, 'What would you  like to talk about?'

'Oh, I don't know,' said the southern congressman. 'How about global warming or universal health care', and he smiles smugly.

OK, ' she said. 'Those could be  interesting topics.. But let me ask you a question first. A horse, a cow, and a deer all eat the same stuff - grass. Yet a deer excretes little pellets, while a cow turns out a flat patty, and a horse produces clumps of dried  grass. Why do you suppose that is?'

The southern legislator, visibly surprised by the little girl's  intelligence, thinks about it and says, 'Hmmm, I have no idea.'

To which the little girl replies, 'Do you really feel qualified to discuss global warming or universal health care when you don't know shit?

SPECIAL GROCERY LIST

Louise Redden, a poorly dressed lady with a look of defeat on her face, walked into a grocery store.

She approached the owner of the store in a most humble manner and asked if he would let her charge a few groceries.

She softly explained that her husband was very ill and unable to work, they had seven children and they needed food.

John Longhouse, the grocer, scoffed at her and requested that she leave his store at once.

Visualizing the family needs, she said: 'Please, sir! I will bring you the money just as soon as I can.'

John told her he could not give her credit, since she did not have a charge account at his store..

Standing beside the counter was a customer who overheard the conversation between the two. The customer walked forward and told the grocer that he would stand good for whatever she needed for her family.  The grocer said in a very reluctant voice, 'Do you have a grocery list?'

Louise replied, 'Yes sir.' 'O.K' he said, 'put your grocer y list on the scales and whatever your grocery list weighs, I will give you that amount in groceries..'

Louise hesitated a moment with a bowed head, then she reached into her purse and took out a piece of paper and scribbled something on it. She then laid the piece of paper on the scale carefully with her head still bowed.

The eyes of the grocer and the customer showed amazement when the scales went down and stayed down.

The grocer, staring at the scales, turned slowly to the customer and said begrudgingly, 'I can't believe it.'

The customer smiled and the grocer started putting the groceries on the other side of the scales. The scale did not balance so he continued to put more and more groceries on them until the scales would hold no more.

The grocer stood there in utter disgust. Finally, he grabbed the piece of paper from the scales and looked at it with greater amazement.

It was not a grocery list, it was a prayer, which said:

'Dear Lord, you know my needs and I am leaving this in your hands.'

The grocer gave her the groceries that he had gathered and stood in stunned silence.

Louise thanked him and left the store...  The other customer handed a fifty-dollar bill to the grocer and said; 'It was worth every penny of it.

THE POWER: When you receive this, say a prayer. That's all you have to do..

Just stop right now, and say a prayer of thanks for your own good fortune.

Then please send this to all your friends and relatives.

I believe if you will send this testimony out with prayer in faith, you will receive what you need God to do in your and your families' life.

So dear heart, trust God to heal the sick, provide food for the hungry, clothes and shelter for those that don't have as we do. Amen & Amen

Don't break this, please! Prayer is one of the best free gifts we receive.

There is no cost but a lot of rewards. May you always walk with Angels God Bless!

Your Choices

To the world you might be just any person, but
to one person you might just be the whole world.

Being is not the breaths you take, but
it is the freshness you put in the breath of others.

Growing older has no choice, but
growing up has choice.

Being born has no choice but
Living life has choice

Falling sick has no choice, but
Keeping healthy has choice

Getting caught through storm has no choice, but
Efforts for safe landing has
choice

THE WAY WE SEE IT

The eye doctor instructed her patient to read a chart on the wall.
 He Looked at it and read, "A, B, F, N, L and G."

The doctor turned the light back on and wrote in her notebook.

"How'd I do, Doc?" the patient wondered.

She replied, "Let's put it this way -- they're numbers."

"But Doc," he argued, "this is the way I see it!"

Much of my happiness or unhappiness is a result of my perception.
"This is the way I see it," I tell myself.

I see some problems as challenges that energize me to action and
Others as obstacles that stop further progress. It's just the way I
See it.

And sometimes I see new situations as fun, and other times I see them
As fearful.

The busyness of my life can be OK if I see it that way, or it can be
A major source of stress. And an unexpected intrusion in my schedule
Can be an irritant or, if I see it that way, possibly the most
Important thing I could do that day.

Even an embarrassing mistake can be the beginning of a new learning
Or an occasion to berate myself. It's in the way I see it.

One of the greatest blocks to my happiness is forgetting that it is
Not always about what is happening to me -- it's more about the way I
See it.

Like Marcel Proust said, "The real voyage of discovery lies not in
Seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes." It's in the way we
See it.

Love and Marriage Explained Beautifully

A student asks a teacher, "What is love?"The teacher said, "in order to answer your question, go to the wheat field and choose the biggest wheat and come back.

But the rule is: you can go through them only once and cannot turn back o pick."

The student went to the field, go thru first row, he saw one big wheat, but he wonders....may be there is a bigger one later.

Then he saw another bigger one... But may be there is an even bigger one waiting for him.

Later, when he finished more than half of the wheat field, he start to realize that the wheat is not as big as the previous one he saw, he know he has missed the biggest one, and he regretted.

So, he ended up went back to the teacher with empty hand.

The teacher told him, "...this is love... You keep looking for a better one, but when later you realize, you have already miss the person...."

*"What is marriage then?" the student asked.

The teacher said, "in order to answer your question, go to the corn field and choose the biggest corn and come back. But the rule is: you can go through them only once and cannot turn back to pick."

The student went to the corn field, this time he is careful not to repeat the previous mistake, when he reach the middle of the field, he has picked one medium corn that he feel satisfy, and come back to the teacher.

The teacher told him, "this time you bring back a corn.... You look for one that is just nice, and you have faith and believe this is the best one you get.... This is marriage."

10 LAWS OF COMPUTING

1. When computing, whatever happens, behave as though you meant it to happen.

2. When you get to the point where you really understand your computer, it's probably obsolete.

3. The first place to look for information is in the section of the manual where you'd least expect to find it.

4. When the going gets tough, upgrade.

5. For every action, there is an equal and opposite malfunction.

6. To err is human...to blame your computer for your mistakes is even more human, its downright natural.

7. He who laughs last, probably has a back-up.

8. The number one cause of computer problems is computer solutions.

9. A complex system that doesn't work is invariably found to have evolved from a simpler system that worked just fine.

10. A computer program will always do what you tell it to do, but rarely what you want it to
do.

Words Women Use

Fine

This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.

---------------------------------------------

Five Minutes

If she is getting dressed, this is half an hour.

Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given 5 more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.

---------------------------------------------

Nothing

This is the calm before the storm. This means "something" and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with "nothing" usually end in "fine".

---------------------------------------------

Go Ahead

This is a dare, not permission, DON'T DO IT!

---------------------------------------------

Loud Sigh

Although not actually a word, the loud sigh is often misunderstood by men. A "Loud Sigh" means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you over "Nothing".

---------------------------------------------

That's Okay

This is one of the most dangerous statements that woman can make to a man. "That's Okay" means that she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.

---------------------------------------------

Thanks

This is the least used of all words in the female vocabulary. If a woman is thanking you. Do not question it, just say you're welcome and back out of the room slowly.

How should parents encourage their child to eat?

We all know that a healthy, varied diet is important for our child's growing needs. But what should you do if your child turns up his nose at just about everything.

Offer your child a wide variety of foods, he will get a balanced diet. It is better for him to eat something that he likes even if you disapprove of it than to eat nothing at all.

If your child refuses to eat fruits and vegetables, try to make them more tempting or more fun, but do not camouflage a detested food by mixing it with something else. The child should eat because he wants to and for no other reason. Encourage your child to feed himself.

- Serve food that is fresh and presented in an attractive way.

- Create a mealtime that is pleasant and relaxed.

- Talk about food; this may encourage a child to eat. Whenever possible, allow children to choose from one or two items on the menu (for example, a choice of peas or carrots for vegetables).

- Give your child the same food you eat.

You should be careful that the child is not overweight. Overweight kids are more likely to remain heavy as adults. This can lead to any number of health problems.

Your child should eat a more balanced diet. Start by setting a good example. If other members of your family commonly eats lots of fruits, vegetables, whole grains and low-fat dairy products, your kids will learn to eat a good diet. Kids tend to copy their parents, so if you eat well, they are more likely to eat well too. Do not get angry and do not panic if the child refuses to eat. If you are concerned about your child's dietary intake, talk to your doctor or a dietician. Put less on your child's plate and praise your child for eating even a little. Try to make meals enjoyable and not just about eating. Limit snacks and drinks between meals. Drinking too much liquid can lessen your child's appetite. This will help ensure that your child is hungry enough to eat solid foods. Do not overfeed. Obesity in children is rarely recognised by parents and is a major health problem.

Children's tastes change. One day they will hate something and a month later they'll love it. Fussy eaters are often slow eaters who dawdle over their plate. It is pointless trying to hurry them. Do not lose your cool at dinner. Simply remove the uneaten food.

If you find that these techniques are not working, there are people who can help. A registered dietician who specialises in children's nutritional needs can assess your situation and provide strategies for dealing with a picky eater.

The Power of Our Thoughts

Thoughts carry tremendous creative power.
Consciously or not, before every spoken word,
 there is a thought.
In the same way, there is a thought proceeding every action.
Since thoughts shape our words and behaviors, they inevitably
shape our environment, relationships and destiny.

As part of our unique human power, our higher reasoning process
 separates us from other species.
With our birth gifts of higher thoughts, inventions are made and
 modern civilization becomes a reality.

Unfortunately, most of us do not utilize the power of thoughts effectively.
Instead of managing our thoughts positively and using them to create a
better reality, we have become powerless with our thoughts.
For example, how many of us catch ourselves daydreaming often and
allow our mind to wonder from places to places without much control?
On the other hand, how many of us try to control our lives ineffectively by
allowing repetitively negative thoughts to dominate our mind
 such as worrying obsessively.
Without learning to master the power of our thoughts, no wonder
we feel anxious and depressed most of the time!

The power of our thoughts truly deserves our better attention
as the quality of our thoughts determines the quality of our life.
Negative thoughts create negative state of mind; therefore,
they produce negative actions following by negative results.
This sounds bad, doesn’t it? The good news is that in the same way,
high quality thoughts create high quality state of mind; therefore,
they produce positive actions and wonderful and positive results.
Isn’t this a great incentive for us to pay attention and learn to
 monitor our thoughts carefully?

A good exercise is to start paying attention to the quality of our thoughts for a day.
Your job is to reject any negative or limited thoughts as soon as they surface.
Any “I can’t” or “too” judgments are out of the windows immediately.
You might be surprised by how many negative thoughts you think daily.
You might also discover that some of these thoughts are not even originally yours!
What a relief! When I first started this exercise, I noticed that there were
more negative thoughts than positive ones.
Most of the negative thoughts were not even valid.
Unfortunately, they had become part of my “thinking habits”.
 Eventually,
I learned that the price I had paid for my habitual negative thoughts
were way too high as they robbed away my happiness and my ability
 to create a good life.

Becoming conscious of the power of our thoughts is a necessity to improve
the quality of our lives. Starting today, pay good attention to your thought quality.
Use the power of your thoughts to create a good life because it is your birth right!
As each of us becomes more conscious and becomes the master of our mind,
we together can use our mind in creating more beauty,
joy and goodness in the world.

"Don't" - My Friend

Don't undermine your worth by comparing yourself with others,
It is because we are different that each of us is special.

Don't set your goals by what other people deem important,
Only you know what is best for you.

Don't take for granted the things closest to your heart
Cling to that as you would your life, for without them life is meaningless.

Don't let your life slip through your fingers by living in the past or the future.
By living your life one day at a time, you live all the days of your life.

Don't give up when you still have something to give.
Nothing is really over … until the moment you stop trying.

Don't be afraid to admit that you are less than perfect,
It is the fragile thread that binds us to each other.

Don't be afraid to encounter risks,
It is by taking chances that we learn how to be brave.

Don't shut love out of your life by saying it's impossible to find.
The quickest way to receive love is to give love.

The fastest way to lose love is to hold on too tightly,
And the best way to keep love is to give it wings.

Don't dismiss your Dreams. To be without dreams is to be without hope.
To be without hope is to be without purpose.

Don't run through life so fast that you forget where you've been,
But also know where you're going.

Life is not a race, but a journey to be savored every step of the way.

I Made A Misteak

So, I made a mistake.
Mistakes happen. Not only do they happen, they are guaranteed.
My father used to say, the only way you won't make mistakes is
if you don't do anything, and that itself is a mistake.
Too many are afraid to try something new because they feel they
might make an error. They are both right and wrong. Yes, they
will probably make errors but it is good to understand that
errors go with the territory.
You will never accomplish great or worthwhile things without
risk and risk generally means great mistake potential.
You are probably reading this by light bulbs invented by Thomas
Edison. He made over a thousand light bulbs that didn't work.
The world would have called them mistakes. He said he learned a
thousand ways not to make a light bulb.
The way to avoid mistakes is experience.
The way to get experience - Mistakes.
Don't feel bad because you messed up with something.
Don't be afraid to venture out into a good thing because you are
afraid that you might mess up.
While one person hesitates because he feels inferior, another is
busy making mistakes and becoming superior.

An expert is a man who has made all the mistakes which can be
made, in a narrow field.
We have to keep trying things we're not sure we can pull off.
If we just do the things we know we can do... you don't grow as
much. You gotta take those chances on making those big mistakes.

Finally in this computer world on misteaks.
Dew knot trussed yore spell chequer two fined awl yore mistakes.

Wealth of Experience

You've been building value within you all your life. It is
The priceless value of experience, and every bit of it is
Still with you.

Today you have more than you've ever had. Think of all the
Good and useful things you can do with that wealth of
Experience.

From every victory, from every defeat, that experience grows
Wiser and more valuable. And now, in this moment, you can
Utilize the value of your lifelong experience to create even
More value.

Your perspective is unique, and from that perspective you
Can build a richness of living that is perfectly suited to
You. What's more, you can share that richness with those
Around you to make it even more fulfilling.

What a great opportunity you have. And you do indeed have
It, wherever you are and whatever you've been through.

Feel, appreciate and explore your living and growing wealth
Of experience. You are worth far more than you can ever
Imagine, so imagine the very best and bring it to life.

Before I was a Mom (Mother's Day Special)

I slept as late as I wanted
Never worried about how late I got into bed.
I brushed my hair and my teeth everyday.

Before I was a Mom

I cleaned my house each day.
I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
 I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom
I had never been puked on - Pooped on - Spit on - Chewed on, or Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind and My thoughts. I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom
I never held down a screaming child so that doctors could do tests...
or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put it down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life
so much. I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important.

Before I was a Mom
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes
to make sure all was okay. I had never known The warmth, The joy,
The love, The heartache, The wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much before I was a Mom.

GETTING DIVORCED

Little Johnny was playing in his room when his dad walked in and explained that he and his mom were getting a divorce.

"Why Daddy?" asked a confused Little Johnny.

"Well, son" he explained, "Your mother and I are no longer in love."

Now more confused, Little Johnny asked, "What does being in love mean?"

"Let me give you an example, son. Love is when a husband rushes home from a long day at work to embrace and kiss his wife at the door. Your mom and I have lost that love."

"But Daddy, I see Mommy getting excited lots of times right when you come home, so she must still be in love with you."

"I don't understand, son. When has your mother recently been excited when I arrive home from work?"

"Well, sometimes when Mommy is still sleeping in bed with the neighbor, and you pull into the driveway, she shouts at the top of her lungs, 'My husband's home! My husband's home!"
